Window background color

I'm a user of several games in Vassal and would like to know if I can change the background color inside a window from white to black? This is to save my monitor from burning out. I've resized a few windows but wondered if there was a config file to change it. I'm using microsoft windows.

So it's either wrong on my machine and the dark background doesn't get propagated correctly or it's wrong on their machines.
