Making a fast pace game

Is it possible to create games where player move / take actions simultaniously?

instead of hot seat?

Is the game engine fast, on laptops with core 2 duo and 2 gig of ram?

It depends on what you mean by fast, but usually I would say no, it's not particularly fast. Painting performance is not great, and gets worse with zoom levels other than 100%. Also with manipulating more than a few objects at once, the constant re-serialisation for every change, for every trait, for every selected piece can make some actions ridiculously laggy.
