Socket error when opening new module

Postby TTC » February 6th, 2018, 7:27 am

Trying to install a new VASSAL module and I always get this error:

Socket Error:
The socket over which the Module Manager communicates has had a fault. Please restart VASSAL.

I do not have this problem with any other module. It always happens at the same point in the installation.

Running Win7
8 GB RAM
Latest JAVA
Intel Core i5-3570k
VASSAL 3.2.17

You're having a permissions problem with the directory shown here. You
can delete C:\Users\[TTC]\AppData\Roaming\VASSAL\tiles safely, as that
entire directory is generated by VASSAL when it runs.

Thanks. I tried that--deleting the entire "tiles" directory--but I still got the error when I hit the 43% installation mark.

Of course the "tiles" folder has returned, but it is now empty.
