When launching VASSAL on linux, I am getting this error message:

WARNING: An illegal reflective access operation has occurred
WARNING: Illegal reflective access by VASSAL.tools.image.ImageIOImageLoader (file:/home/mma/T%c3%a9l%c3%a9chargements/VASSAL-3.2.17/lib/Vengine.jar) to field sun.java2d.cmm.ProfileDeferralMgr.deferring
WARNING: Please consider reporting this to the maintainers of VASSAL.tools.image.ImageIOImageLoader
WARNING: Use --illegal-access=warn to enable warnings of further illegal reflective access operations
WARNING: All illegal access operations will be denied in a future release

Same issue here. I've seen this for some time now. My workaround is to install openjdk-8 version in parallel and modify the shell script to point to this version. However, this won't work for long since java8 will be deprecated. It would be nice if we got a status update on this.

I have the same problem. I already installed openjdk-8 but don't know where/what/how to modify the shell script.

I could use any help....
