Thus spake "BrianWorkman":
I just upgraded from Vassal 3.1.10 to 3.1.13. Then when I tried to open one o
f the games that I have going it would not allow me to select my side, only o
bserver. I gather that this is because I entered a different password than th
e original. I have searched everywhere but it has been years since I started
using Vassal and I can't find what that password was. Is there a way to reco
ver this password?
Your own passwords are stored in VASSAL's Preferences file, in the ~/VASSAL
directory (where ~ stands for your home directory---under Windows, this
would be something like C:\Documents and Settings\username or
C:\Users\username, depending on the version you are using). The Preferences
file is a ZIP archive. If you unzip it, that will give you the files where
your module preferences are stored. Look in the one corresponding to your
module. You should find (not necessarily consecutive) lines which look like
this:
RealName=username
SecretName=password
These are the username and password that the module expects. Try those.
