Detach Chat Windows for Dual Display

Hi,

Can we have an option to detach the chat window? I'm using dual display and would like to see only the board on one screen and everything else including chat windows, tables, etc on the second.

VASSAL 3.2 will have the capability do dock and undock all components. This
is already being worked on.

So, 11 years later, did the ability to undock the chat area ever get implemented? I don't see a way to do it...

You've always been able to undock the main map. Look for "Use Combined
Application Window" in the preferences and uncheck that. Undocking the chat
area is basically the same thing as undocking the main map, since those
take up nearly all the space in the main window.

The conclusion I reached about the docking frameworks available during
3.2 development was that they were all junk, so we didn't go forward
with the work I described.

Ha, I had actually tried that but didn't realize the map and main window/chat area were separated. On my monitor they were aligned and so I didn't see anything different; I didn't try dragging the main window.
