No, that's not happening anymore.

I notice there is a 3.1.19 version downloadable in the builds space, which is not advertised anywhere and is not in the official "Download" page.

What does it change compare to 3.1.18? Just bug fixes? Which ones?

Is it possible to have some (quick) release notes? Thank you.

These are not releases, they're test builds for diagnosing a specific
problem.

These are the changes which we've accumulated so far for the 3.1.19
release:

* 4258: Large image masks in Non-Rectangular trait lock up the GUI
* 4184: Should use DocumentListener to catch updates on Swing text fields
* 4132: Bad layout for Map window obscures Global Key Command buttons
* 3075: NegativeArraySizeException when snapshotting large maps
* Bad tile-counting when snapshotting maps

Thanks for the info. Is 4184 in any way related to the text label "bug" (see ongoing discussion)?

No. It was an obscure issue with entering text in the module editor. You can see all the sordid details by searching for 4184 in the Tracker.

No, 4184 affects mainly text fields in the Editor.

I'm not sure if you want comments from the peanut gallery here, but I just downloaded 3.2 for the first time with svn8096. I think I had a similar move.gif error missing the .gif. I think this was a stock image, because it's definitely one I didn't add and it seems to be on all my boards.

I created my module in 3.16 or maybe even earlier. It would only load my base board and 1/10 of the prototypes and global properties.

I did a save as in 3.1.18. I could then open it fine.

You know what, I sometimes get random images disappearing in 3.2 as well, but I haven't seen any pattern, and they seem to show up again next time I load the module. I didn't think anything of it because my computer is CRAZY and does weird crap like that all the time. But anyhow, I guess I second this.

It may be more then just the moved problem. I tried creating a new module just to try out some of the 3.2 and crashed with this.

This appears to be the same as Bug 4296.

Sorry for lurking, but would it be "safe" in terms of compatibility to take the latest build of 3.2 and to start designing a module for it?

Would I just have issues later down the road when a final release is done?

At what point do you think it would be safe to start designing in 3.2?

Thanks, Vassal is an amazing piece of software.

I expect that the 3.2.0 release will be substantially as the 3.2 builds
are now, modulo bug fixes. As long as you're not relying on behavior
caused by bugs, you should be fine.

That's great news, thanks! I don't suppose there's any documentation yet that I could crawl through?

Most of the new features are undocumented, unfortunately.
