Number of cards in hand

Hi,
with virtually no programming experience I'm trying to realize Munchkin the card game using vassal. One problem (among others) I have is that the other players should know the number of cards a player has in his hand (if they don't want to rely exclusively on trust), but without seeing what the cards are.

Any ideas?

Make all players' hands visible to everyone and the cards only visible to the owner .A lot of modules use this, for example twilight struggle
