Not sure what to do or where to ask but this keeps happening and the only fix seems to be it randomly deciding to stop messing up eventually.

Restarting the program or computer doesn’t help. I’m on windows xp. Its… very frustrating.
Ive been having this problem too ever since i moved to a new pc using windows 7.
My old windows xp machine never had it.
Im using Java 6 update 29 and windows 7 x64 ultimate
I changed version of Java to build 1.7.0 and its sorted the problem for me (x64 version in my case), so seems like its a java version issue perhaps try rolling back/updating your version of java might help?

That’s almost surely a bug in the version of Java you’re using, not in
VASSAL.
