I recently acquired Asia Engulfed, and, after reading the rules a couple of times, I got the impression that it’s one of those games where a new player (specially one without much experience in wargames in general) could benefit from the experience of another. Is there anyone interested in playing a few games?

I learned the game by playing Tom Good. Although we payed on wargameroom.com not Vassal, I think he can do both.
You;re right, AE is one of those game, much unlike others, that can take awhile to get the hang of. To do so, seek out Tom. He’s patient and a heck of a nice guy. I’ll send you his email via PM.
