Have you made sure to reboot after installing a new version of Java?
Have you made sure that you have only one version of Java installed
at a time?

Yes, I understand.

Yes the computer has been rebooted and there is only one version of Java.
But there is a JavaFX 2.1.1 program installed.

I guess this is going to remain a mystery for me. I uninstalled Java and reinstalled it. Did the same for Vassal and still get the same result. Guess I'll just have to live with it. Doesn't interfere with playing the game.

Have you checked the errorLog after trying to drag a piece?

It's available under Help > Error Log in the Module Manager.

I ran a module, moved some counters around and then checked the Error log. It did not report any errors. Tried to copy or save the error log to post here, but couldn't find any way to do that.

The error log should also be in your Vassal directory on your computer.

I've run the error log while testing various modules but can't find an error log file anywhere in my Vassal directories.

So far when the error log is displayed it doesn't report any errors.

The file is called errorLog. Where it's located depends on what OS
you're using.

I could tell you where it is if you tell me what OS you're using.

Then the errorLog will be in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\VASSAL,
if you replace "username" with your username.

Have you recently updated your video drivers?
