Problem when running 3.2.8

Ever since I installed 3.2.8 I have the following problem. When playing I lose my sync with the other player. Then when I resync I takes a long time. when I get my sync back it will display all the missed die rolls from my opponent form when I lost my sync. I have reinstalled my Java and Vassal and I still have the problem. I an using windows 8 and Java 7 update 25.

Which part are you saying is new?

I have reinstalled my
Java and Vassal and I still have the problem.

Unless you have specific reason to think that Java or VASSAL are corrupt,
doint that is a waste of time.

First I reinstalled my Vassal. Same problem
next I uninstalled Java, then reinstalled it, same problem.
next uninstalled vassal and java, then reinstalled java then vassal. Same problem.
I did this over 2 weeks so that I tried playing with my opponents to test.

Thanks,

S

If you reinstalled the same versions of Java and VASSAL, you should not
expect to see any change, excepting the case in which one of them was
corrupt—but in that case it’s unlikely that VASSAL would start.

I don’t understand from your description which part you’re reporting
as a problem. The loss of sync? Resyncing taking a long time? Seeing
all of the missed die rolls played back? All of these?

Thanks for taking the time to look into my problem. I did some more testing I will try to explain in more detail.

When playing I will lose my opponents actions, I do not lose my connection, but my opponent still sees my actions. For example I do not see my opponents die rolls but he sees my die rolls. Them maybe 5 minutes later I will see his die rolls stream in all at once! But not every time. I do not see my opponents moves but my opponent sees mine.

Their are times I am connected (online) in vassal and I lose connection but my screen indicates I am still connected.

When I disconnect from my game then try to re-sync their is a delay with with the re-sync, around 1 minute.

I hope this helps with describing my problem.

Thanks,

Steve

I have the same problem.
My opponent is doing something on the board but I don’t see any changes on my screen. I need to disconnect and connect again and sync. After couple of minutes of normal behavior of Vassal it happens again and another re-sync is required.

No error messages, nothing - just can’t see what my opponents is doing on the board until re-sync.

Sounds like a flaky connection.

I have similar problems. Getting dropped every 5 minutes or so without any sort of notification and then only finding out when I move something and other player cannot see it…

I then have to join the room again and resynch. There is also a “ghost” of my prior name retained by the room. So after a while there can be 3 of me apparently in the same room…

Note I use teamviewer and skype at the same time so possibly some sort of clash…
