I’m trying to install Vassal 3.2.10. I am running windows 7(64 bit), Java 7 update 51. Basically I click on the install file and nothing happens. My windows explorer window freezes and I have to use task manager to close it. I obtained the install file several times from downloads.sourceforge.net/vassal … indows.exe

What are the md5 or sha1 hashes of the file you have? They should be
md5: 700c1024bb19e77968a50e908596aeb0
and
sha1: ba5d1068e6f4cab9eb1a6bded5dee38c7f85397f
If those aren’t the hashes for your file, then you have a corrupt
download. Check that first.

that is, indeed, the md5 checksum of the file I downloaded.

Are there any messages printed if you try running the installer from
a terminal (cmd.exe) rather than by clicking it?
