I don’t see how to reproduce the problem you’re having. Please give
precise step-by-step instructions if you want us to look into this
further.

J.

-Edit the downloaded module
-Uncheck “include toolbar button to hide/show” property in the main map
-Save the module
-Open the module and load a new game
-The game crashs (for me)

I can reproduce this now. I’ll look into it.

I need another copy of the original module—I accidentally saved over
it, and now the download link doesn’t work.

J.

The download link works for me just now

The download link still isn’t working for me. I’d like to continue investigating this, but I need another copy of the module to do so.

Ah, never mind. I got it. The link is munged in replies, but is correct in the original message.

Your problem is that the VASSAL.build.module.GlobalOptionsGlobalOptions element in the buildFile somehow got after the element for the main map. Move the VASSAL.build.module.GlobalOptionsGlobalOptions element to be the first child of VASSAL.launch.BasicModule element and your change to the module will work.
