I’ve been working on the next generation of Vassal modules for OCS. Unfortunately what I wanted to do turned out to be much more complicated than I thought and has needed a major rewrite of the map and piece drawing code. So it’s been rolled into the work I was doing to enable an Android port. Some of the new facilities like players being able to rotate the map orthogonally may be of interest in general. The interface change involves replacing the toolbar by a context sensitive right click menu.
It is now at a point where it can be demo’ed to get feedback on the new interface and to hopefully get the new drawing code tested on multiple machines. The instructions on how to install and test are here:

Feedback will help determine which direction if any the code goes.
Any pet peeves or brilliant ideas for improving things: put them forward now whilst nothing has been set in stone.

I have written and contributed to many modules as well as vassal code add ons.
I have not been overly active the last 3-4 years(apart from Python) , I switched careers back to Engineering after 30+ in IT.
I am sure it will come flooding back.

George didn’t give up, but sadly he unexpectedly died last year. This
also means that the OCS modules have no maintainer at the moment, so
far as I know.

I just bought a Galaxy Chromebook thinking I could use it for the Vassal Pursuit of Glory module. I’d be happy to help play test it for this module - otherwise I’ll have to return my new toy

If you’re willing to test, you might want to hang on to the Chromebook,
as there will be things to test for VASSAL 4 later this year.
