Piece Pallets... can they be "variable"?

I’m going to be working on a module that has two games in it that use the same map, but the pieces will never be “mixed”.

Is it possible to create four piece pallets, (one for each side for two games), and have the appearance of the pallets dependent on which scenario one chooses from the start up? It would really help keep the top buttons tidy to have two, rather than four pallet buttons appearing there.

If this is possible, can someone steer me to the right features or menus in the editor to use?

You could use a Toolbar Button at the top level and add the buttons for all four palettes underneath.

This will give you access to all of the palettes while only showing one button along the top.

Brian

Would it be easier to just create separate modules for the two games?
Or is there a lot of other shared Vassal stuff (other than graphics?)

Yes, it would definitely be EASIER to create two modules… in fact that’s what has been already done before.

I’m working on a 2nd version of one, and at this early juncture, am wondering if I shouldn’t go the “deluxe” route and reflect what’s in the box in ONE module.
