Wrongly Posted Modules

Gentlemen,

Last week I sent two modules that modified old ones, correcting for errata counters that have been published since the game’s inception and since the creation of the original modules.

They were posted incorrectly.

vassalengine.org/wiki/File:A … _v1.C.vmod

This belongs on this page:

vassalengine.org/wiki/Module … e_l%27epee

And this:

vassalengine.org/wiki/File:E … n_1.C.vmod

Belongs on this page:

vassalengine.org/wiki/Module … _1315-1476

I have once more posted a corrected Au Fils d’lepee file Benevento
Au fil de l’epee Benevento v1.C.vmod

This one also belongs on this page:
vassalengine.org/wiki/Module … e_l%27epee

Yet another mod placed on the wrong page.

This module:
vassalengine.org/wiki/File:S … v2.2N.vmod

Belongs on this page:
vassalengine.org/wiki/Module … for_Europe

Its not in the wrong place. It is exactly where it is supposed to be. You
have to manually add it to the module page yourself by editing the page -
this is a wiki setup

Yet another mod placed on the wrong page.

This module:

Belongs on this page:
vassalengine.org/wiki/Module … for_Europe[2]

I don’t understand what a Wiki set up is. All I know is that I added it to the Struggle For Europe page and it didn’t get to its destination.

You never added it to the page or your name would show up in the history:

Last edit was in 17 Jan 2016. All you have done is upload a file – you still need to EDIT the module page and link your file. See

vassalengine.org/wiki/How_to … odule_Page

Although this refers to creation of a new page, all editing is doing is modifying by addition, Select edit the page, copy an existing file entry, add it and make it match your file’s name on that page in the Files section of the module page

I know what you want to do, just trying to show you how to do it yourself so I don’t have to keep doing it for you

I had a look at the

vassalengine.org/wiki/How_to … odule_Page

page and my eyes rolled back and instantly had a migraine.

I would ask why it has to be so difficult. But that’s not important. Simply put that kind of thing is beyond my ability to understand.

For instance: “modifying by addition” I don’t know what that means.

“copy an existing file entry” What is a file entry?

“match your file’s name on that page” what page?

"Files section of the module page " ???

This all sounds like normal English to computer guys. To me, you might as well be speaking Mandarin.

I’m a historian, with BA degrees, never took a technical class I couldn’t flunk. This is all simply beyond my ability to comprehend.

Did you try to walk through the tutorial? There are even pictures
showing you what to do. Please give it a shot before telling us you
can’t understand it.

I am just Wondering if you realize the “help” section on how to do these things if woefully out of date? And the instructions read like someone from Linux wrote them for other proficient Linux users. I have given up on trying to do anything with modules until somebody updates the how to section or you guys change the way that we(the people who would love to help you all out), can get simple things like “upload file” done without a programing degree or learning a new language.

No, I had not realized the help I linked to was out of date. What in
particular is out of date?

A link to the wiki search page might be nice, or a page where you begin. the search box is on the right side of every page I see the help procedures state its on the left. confusion from the first directions.
