If I have added new functionalities to a module in an extension, and I like them, is it possible to create a new module made of all the elements for a next module version ?

I have been successful opening the vmod buildfile and the vmdx buildfile in a text editor, and copy/pasting the relevant elements back and forth.
If you are very careful with it, this works with most elements. I have moved maps, palettes, prototypes, toolbar buttons, menus – most everything.
