Uncaught Exception Error on Mac

I was just opening Vassal when I got an “Uncaught Exception.” I’m not sure how to solve this and the bug reporter told me to come here. Thanks in advance if you fix this issue!

What I was doing: I was trying to open VASSAL.

Model: MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports)
OS: macOS Sierra Version 10.12.6
CPU: 3.1 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 8 GB
Video: Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 1536 MB
VASSAL: 3.2.17
Java: 9.0.1
Module: None, I just clicked Vassal.

I uploaded the errorLog onto a google drive folder. Here’s the link: drive.google.com/drive/folders/ … sp=sharing

Short version: downgrade to Java 8

Long answer: if you need Java 9 for other apps, you can download and manually unpack the files for Java 8, then update VASSAL.app/Contents/MacOS/VASSAL.sh to find and use that older version instead of the system default.

Then sing with me: Roll on v4, so I can stop caring about Java AT ALL.
