GMT’s Death Valley:Battles for the Shenandoah is unprecedented in wargaming history: the world’s first “deci-game”. It chronicles the pivotal battles for Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley in 1862 and 1864. In the early battles, Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson matches wits with a variety of Union Generals, affecting the force structure to the east in front of Richmond. In the late war battles, the hard-pressed Army of the Valley, mostly under the leadership of Jubal Early, holds on by its fingernails against huge Union forces headed by Phil Sheridan … but manages a few nasty surprises for the Federal forces.
The Dead of Winter module has been slightly altered in response to an odd “bug” that has cropped up. Apparently, the Confederate Efficiency Marker deck has gone missing, and the engine can’t “find” (or display) the 11 Efficiency markers set up in the module’s Draw Pool display. So, to keep things moving along, a set of “pieces” has been created, for both sides, and placed in tabs along with the Activation Markers. So, there are now two methods to handle Efficiency Draws: the decks, and placing EM pieces into the AM draw kepi.
A new module for Drive on Kursk: July, 1943 is now available for this East Front WWII operational game published in 2008 in S&T Magazine #253.
