• • Alternative module 1.4 offers another different implementation of this great game! I will add some setups via an extension when I'm sure no changes will be required in the module. There is a "How to Use the VASSAL module" video in the help menu. I updated the IJN to better reflect the rules, automated the sunk ships tally and tonnage. Big thanks to Tim Phelps for helping bring this module to its full potential!
  • Changes for module 1.5

Added a withdraw marker for subs that are being withdrawn. Added a way to mark subs that have radar when using the optional radar rules. Changed the AV/CV Chitose and AV/CV Chiyoda to behave like the other conversion ships (i.e. Ise, Hyuga, and Mogami). Modified the menu order so that there is more consistency between IJN and non-IJN ships and between US and Allied subs. Added the ability to draw specific counters to all draw cups to make it easier to fish out named ships that have been sunk and IJN ship removals. Updated the Sequence of Play image to match the latest from the 2.1 rulebook update. Added pre-defined setups for the remainder of the campaigns/scenarios.

Silent War is a solitaire simulation of the United States' Navy submarine war against Imperial Japan in World War Two. You serve as Commander of Submarines, US Pacific Fleet (ComSubPac). Your mission is to deploy your boats with maximum effect to destroy Japanese shipping, while limiting your own submarine losses.
