Comments

3.5 - REQUIRES VASSAL 3.6.4 or later

  • Updated custom code to prevent "Obsolete Custom Code" messages with latest Vassal.
  • Changed module settings to allow it to take advantage of improved Vassal performance
  • Union Control of Mississippi now correctly adds 10 to USA Strategic Will (rather than subtracting 10 from Confederate). Thx Gabriel Schweitzer for bug report.

3.4 - REQUIRES VASSAL 3.4.5 or later

  • Corrects a problem where units of the same type, being dragged together, would sometimes "unstack".
  • This version is fully "saved game"/"logfile" compatible with 3.3.

3.3 - REQUIRES VASSAL 3.4.0 or later

  • NOTE: I do NOT recommend loading save files from earlier versions of the module to this version -- at the very least you will not get the improvements. Just start any NEW games with this cool new version.
  • Can now place 8 Union SP in Washington DC all at once (with Alt+8 or right-click menu)
  • When an army was eliminated in the same space as an opposing army, extra SW penalty was being charged. This now correctly happens ONLY when an army is eliminated in the same space as another *friendly* army.
  • Ewell and AP Hill were incorrectly missing from some scenario maps - fixed
  • Takes advantage of various nice VASSAL 3.4.0 features
  • There is now a much more noticeable "drag threshold" (10 pixels instead of 1), so pieces/stacks won't be so pixel-sensitive and fidgety.
  • Rollover text for groups of units does a better job of picking up other counters underneath as well
  • "Change Sides" button now defaults to opposite site for quicker "Hot Seat" play
  • Ctrl+Mousewheel will zoom the map in and out (YAY! They let me put this in VASSAL! Coming soon to ALL your games...)
  • Mousewheel in general should "scroll text windows faster", it used to be infuriatingly slow

3.2 - Vassal 3.2.17 or later

  • NOTE: I do NOT recommend loading save files from earlier versions of the module to this version -- at the very least you will not get the improvements. Just start any NEW games with this cool new version...
  • Substantial performance improvements, especially w/ Auto Organize off.
  • Auto Organize now defaults to off.
  • Cool HTML-compliant logfile reporting (and chat window) added -- logfile should be MUCH more readible and useful.
  • Cute little dice symbols appear in the log when dice are rolled in Vassal
  • Armies now have Ctrl+P hotkey to Convert/Place PC Marker.
  • SP counters now have Expand (Ctrl+X) and Consolidate (Ctrl+C) commands (e.g. a 6 turns into a pile of six ones, and vice versa)
  • Forts can be built by selecting empty spaces and picking Ctrl+F(CSA) or Alt+F(USA). So that you don't have to drag them all the way across the map.
  • "Middle" auto-organize level is now much faster but also pared down.
  • Scrolling improved in "How to Play" section.
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes, missing card text, event displays, etc, fixed (full list in the "Changelist" from module's help menu)

This version is new and currently "in beta", but please do report any problems/issues/suggestions to Brian Reynolds at brian@brianreynolds.net

3.1

  • Note this version is NOT recommended to be used with saved games from the 3.0 version!
  • Armies now display commander's strategy rating on left of counter
  • Armies also display "*" if at least one cavalry brigade, or "!" if army consists entirely of cavalry brigades.
  • Randomizer for Generals now makes clearer that the top general on the pile has been "elected" for randomization purposes, when randomizing on-map or on army track for casualties.
  • Miscellaneous minor bug fixes.

This version is new and currently "in beta", but please do report any problems/issues/suggestions to Brian Reynolds at brian@brianreynolds.net

3.0 All new version - new hi-res art direct from GMT, plus lots of automation & shortcut features.

  • Auto-stack organization.
  • Armies display strength on their counters
  • Pick up and drop off SP's (and generals, cavalry) with easy hotkeys
  • Automatic Strategic Will adjustments for many functions, including tracking of "Fortunes of War" momentum.
  • States track count of PC markers, and adjust Strategic Will when captured.
  • Bunch of more stuff, give it a try :-)

2.02: This version allows for all Kentucky, as well as the Franklin, WV PC to be removed completely. This is due to the Kentucky Anarchy and Mosby's Raiders cards. If you are in an existing game from version 2.01, then follow these directions:

1) Go to Pieces --> Neutral Markers

2) Locate the items that say "Band Aid" in their description. Drag and drop them on top of the location.

3) The counters described as "Neutral State Control (Band Aid - KY - Generic)" are for the non-port spaces in Kentucky.

4) You may now right-click on the location and set its control to either side or neither side.
