The Plum Island Horror is a 1 to 4 player game featuring cooperative play that combines tactical-level unit management with a tower-defense style survival mechanic. Each player will control one of six unique factions which represent the various groups that populate Plum Island. Each of these Factions has its own strengths and weaknesses, and the system encourages you to optimize for the group’s strengths and marginalize its weaknesses. Players must coordinate with one another, and the resulting synergy will hopefully be enough to successfully evacuate a city under siege and contain the horrific outbreak that threatens to spread beyond the island itself. If the players can succeed, they will win together, and the world will most likely be none the wiser to the averted crisis. If not, they will lose together and share the blame equally for failing humankind.

Version 1.0

This is the first version of an unofficial fan made Vassal module for "The Plum Island Horror" by GMT Games and designed by Hermann Luttmann.

How to use this Module

  • All componets (Vip/Tokens/Turn Order...) can be found in the menu bar by clicking on the box icon.
  • Setup is automated. Only Bridge Damage and First Contacted need to be done manually.
  • End Phase can be done manually or triggered via the Menu Bar Button "End Phase". This will remove Exhausted Location on Night Turns, remove one Hit from each Mutation, draw Biohazard Cubes and increase the Biohazard Tracker, refill the Turn Order bag, advance the Round Tracker and sets the Action Used Token on each Faction Board to the available Actions this turn.
  • Right Click on the Main Board opens up a context Menu. There you can create various tokens onto Plum Island.
  • Drag and Drop Tokens/Stuff into the Sea around Plum Island will remove the token from the Game. Be carefull its then lost in the Sea and will never come back. Ok kind of Horrors will be returned to the Spawn pool, tokens will be deleted.
  • Right Click on a Civ Token lets you send that token to a Faction Board.
  • Supply and Action Used Tokens can be increased/decrease by clicking on the left/right side of the token.
  • A click on the Damage/Pistol/Molotov/Compound Token will flip it.
  • On the Faction Boards there are Menu Icons to fast create Supply and Hit Tokens
  • A click on a Hit Token will send the Token back to the Hit Pool
  • A click on a Biohazard Token will send the Token into the Biohazard Bag
  • On the Turn Order Board there is a Play Button that draws and place the next Turn Order Token on the Turn Order Tracker.
  • On the Deck Board there are 2 Buttons for each Deck one draws a Card into the Discard Pile and the other one reshuffles the Discard Pile into the Deck.
  • Hovering over a Token on the Plum Island will show the current location of the Token above the Token and show the Stack Count under the Token.
  • For some Mutations it is importent if certain Civs are on the board. Right click on the Plum Island lets you choose report all Civs. Clicking there will report all Civ Names into the log. Thats way easier to find a certain name than look through all Civs on the Board.
